Showcase - Gale Woods Farm

Gale Woods Farm is an actual food producting farm that operates as a Three Rivers Park. They have wonderful education opportunities for the young and the old. They milk cows, collect and sell chicken eggs, butcher their livestock, produce wool which I believe they sell if you are a knitter. All done using organic methods.

One great program my family has participated in the last couple year is the Community Suppported Agriculture (CSA) program. They sell shares of their farm to families in the area like mine. Then we can go every week and pick up a great selection of organically grown produce.

They actually sell their products nine to five Monday - Saturday.

Coming up this weekend is the Gale Woods Harvest Hoedown. They'll be celebrating their harvest with music and games. Open to anyone!

Join us for an evening of fiddling, fun, and farm-fresh food! Enjoy string-band music and learn the basics of easy and fun family folk dancing. Take a wagon ride, meet the farm animals, and explore the farm. Farm-raised concessions available for an additional fee. No reservations required. Participant fee will go to support the Wonder Fund scholarship program
Sept 29, 5-8:30pm

The Gale Woods Farm is a great place for anyone interested in learning about food production. Find more information about them at their website, and like their Facebook page!
